Why the name "God's Men In Black?"
The movie "Men In Black" is about a secret organization in which you give up your identity to protect people from dangers that they don't know about or the fact that you even exist. In fact, they don't remember that they were in danger or that you saved them. The movie identity helps us in a light-hearted way visualize our desire to support the local church leadership in a significant way and to operate as much as possible in anonymity. Our name in no way endorses this or any movie, particular actor, etc...
Our goal is to have the leadership of the church covered in prayer and fasting each day of the month. We try to have a man take a particular day of the month and commit for one year. However, we stress that 24/7 is more of a heart goal than a program goal. There will be times that it may not work for the individual on his exact day. God is more concerned with
the heart than any legalism on our part.
To borrow and somewhat paraphrase several lines from the movie:
"We have no identifying marks of any kind. We do not stand out in any way. We don't exist. Anonymity is our middle name. Silence is our native tounge. We are not part of the system. We're them, we're they, we are God's Men In Black."
